ISO 9001 Quality Manual and company “Route Map”

updated on 2nd March 2018

1. Company History and Context of the Organisation

Adwin Spring Co. Ltd was founded in 1958, making flat and wire springs. The company moved to Elwell Street in the mid 60’s, expanding steadily in its first three decades. In 1993 with the assistance of the Black Country Development Corporation a new factory was built on the site, and over the next five years, there was a rapid growth in turnover, with significant expenditure on capital equipment. In 1999 Morris Springs was acquired bringing increased sales and marketing effort and further enhancing turnover. Capital expenditure has continued, moving the company into high volume spring coiling, 3D tooling, laser marking, and production wire eroding so that it can now offer a very wide capability to its customers. The company management philosophy is based on responsibility and mutual respect. Adwin Spring Co. Ltd. aims to become a leader in supplying prototype springs and presswork. The mainstay of our strategy will be to offer a level of client focus that is superior to that offered by our competitors and meets the needs and expectations of our stakeholders. Adwin Spring Co. Ltd. has a goal to maintain growth and secure employment by offering custom solutions for both prototype and production parts at a fair price and timely delivery.

2. Scope and Exclusions

In order to help us achieve our goal, the team at Adwin & Morris Springs have established and implemented a Management System based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 International Quality System Standard. This systemised approach helps to ensure that our business processes are effectively defined, implemented, audited, reviewed and continually improved, and that customer satisfaction with the products that we provide remains at the forefront of our activities.

The Scope of our ISO 9001:2015 approval is as follows:-

Prototyping, manufacture, laser marking and stockholding of flat springs and pressings, wire springs and wire forms, micro-sized precision parts and CNC wire erosion, auto coiling, multi-slide and high-speed precision machining.

Due to the nature of our products and service Design and Development (ISO 9001:2015 Clause 8.3) is currently outside of the “Scope of Approval” of the management system. This exclusion does not affect the team’s ability or responsibility to provide products that meet and where possible exceeds the expectations of our customers. This “Route Map” is effectively our Management System Quality Manual and it identifies our business processes, their application throughout the organisation, and contains associated hyperlinks to supporting business process controls, measures, supporting records and other data.

3. ISO 9001 Integrated Business Management System
